V S Govindan Nampoothiri, the Valiya Thirumeni of Akkappallil Illom had learned the poojas , Thanthra vidyas, Prahnam and Jyothisham from his father during the early ages.
Akkappallil Illom (Velliiyottillam) is one of the oldest Nampoothiri Illoms in Kottayam. Inside the “Ara” of Illom, Thevara moorthis are being worshipped with poojas on a daily basis. Major diety being Bhagavathi, Thevaaram also includes Chathur Bahu (Maha Vishnu), Ganapathi, Maha lakshmi and Salagramams representing Lord Shiva.
Lord Ganapathi is worshipped as Bala Ganapathi for the Ganapathi Homams and this Homam is very much helpful in achieving success in all initiatives.
Thevaara moorthis are given pooja and Nivedyam daily, however, darshan to public is available only on Sundays. Every Friday, Illam will be having Guruthi Poojas which is considered as very special and gives immediate results for problems....
